It's hard to think of a clever site description.

Welcome to your new Ode site.

This is the 'content area message' section of the default theme. To edit this message, look for the content_area_message div in the 'page' theme file.

You can change this message, delete the section entirely, or otherwise customize the look and layout of the page by editing the theme. (Of course, you can also create your own themes.)

Hello World

Still having problems?

What's next?

Start posting to your site.

Remember that posts are plain text files under Ode's document directory ending with the the post file extension. (The default post file extension is 'txt'.) You can use any plain text editor you like to create posts for your Ode site.

Ode treats the first line of the file as the title of the post and everything after the first line as the body.

I recommend leaving a blank line between the title and body but this isn't required.

Important

You may want to wait until I get the documentation online before you really start to settle in (so that you have a better idea about what you're settling into).

In addition to the single two column theme included with the initial release I will be posting simple one and three column designs shortly.

This requires two things:

  1. An understanding of how Ode works
  2. Some knowledge of the Perl language and general programming concepts
